As the 4th largest wireless provider in the U.S., T-Mobile is taking many steps to keep their mobile phone services up to speed with AT&T, Verizon and Sprint. With a brand new 4G network, T-Mobile wireless Internet is currently one of the fastest wireless networks. T-Mobile Home Internet has unlimited data. And although you can’t carry your T-Mobile internet modem with you while traveling, it is an outstanding home internet solution for rural and underserved areas. T-Mobile’s home plan delivers an unlimited supply of data through T-Mobile’s nationwide LTE network, and it works in many areas where the cable lines don’t go. T-Mobile has been working on LTE home internet since 2019, when a small number of customers were invited to participate in the plan.1 Although T-Mobile has made huge strides in building out the network—leaping from 3 metro areas to over 450 cities—there are still 23 states without the option of T-Mobile Home Internet service. The good news is that T-Mobile Speed Test is pushing to rapidly expand their home internet service, thanks to the Sprint merger and the increasing demand for internet connectivity due to COVID-19. Internet service providers and cable and satellite TV companies have the lowest customer satisfaction ratings out of 46 industries according to the American Customer Satisfaction Index. T-Mobile Home Internet expects to deliver average download speeds around 50 Mbps or more through fixed unlimited wireless service – with no data caps. T-Mobile said there are no annual service contracts and no hidden fees and no equipment costs. Because T-Mobile’s home internet service is relatively new, service and download speeds will vary widely. We have yet to actually test the service for ourselves, so it’s hard to tell just how fast it is. T-Mobile claims most subscribers should experience download speeds of at least 50Mbps, which isn’t terrible, but it’s not incredible. That’s why we recommend going for the service only if you’re in an area with T-Mobile’s 5G network or in rural areas where fast download speeds are hard to come by in the first place.
